"Transformational Experiences – Near Death from Drowning and Stage IV Cancer Survivor"

About the Speaker: In 1984, while serving as Chief Engineer on an ocean research ship, David was thrown overboard during a storm and drowned. Revived when his entangled body was tossed by wave action against nearby flotsam, David tells how this experience ultimately changed the course of his life. Ten years later while on retreat, David.finds that there are still major lessons to be absorbed from the earlier near death experience. Then with the strength of insights and life values from these experiences David faces the extreme challenges of being diagnosed with stage IV lung and bone cancer in November, 2000. Informed by his doctors that his condition is incurable and terminal, he is advised to get his affairs in order. David undertakes aggressive treatments that lead to remission. However, the aftermath of the disease requires major reconstructive surgeries on his spine in May, 2002. Now cancer free for three years, David’s message of hope and love is an inspiration to all who hear him speak about his experiences.
