Upstate NY IANDS Events

We are a Local Discussion/Interest not-for-profit group, and our meetings are open to the public. These meetings includes both experiencers and non-experiencers, and are open to everyone. In these meetings we may invite authors and speakers, or show movies, so we may bring in interesting and fascinating accounts of near-death experiences and other spiritually transformative experiences into our area. These meetings are for a broad range of people and appeal to anyone who is comfortable in a “learning” atmosphere.

Upstate NY IANDS is presenting a talk with Karen Thomas from North Carolina.
At the time of her Near Death Experience, Karen was a physical therapist at Alaska Hospital and Medical Center in Anchorage Alaska. She, her husband and 2 young children aged 9 and 6 years old had moved there from New York State. Karen had injured her back and a spinal surgery was scheduled at the hospital where she was employed. During the surgery, the orthopedic surgeon accidentally cut a hole in the major artery to her leg causing her to bleed out on the operating table which led to her experience. She became aware and observed what was happening in the OR from a corner near the ceiling. She describes how her being left the OR and entered other areas of the hospital. She observed a man in street clothes rushing toward the operating room, he was her vascular surgeon. Weeks later she was able to confirm with him what he was wearing and what he was doing during her out of body experience. The prayers that people were saying for her appeared like musical notes. Come hear her discuss in detail what she experienced on her visit to the other side.

Spiritually Transformative Experiences or STEs,  are events that affect us in a very real and spiritual ways. We’ve all had such experiences, big ones like an NDE or an encounter experience, shared death, or even an after death communication, or small ones like lucid dreams or  prophetic, a past life regression, or a hunch that comes true. There are many types of such experiences which serve are catalysts for spiritual transformation and awakening. They often bring change to our perspective of ourselves, our connection to each other, and to the Universe.
