Kimberly Clark Sharp: author of "After the Light"
"Death is nothing to fear - and life without fear can be lived to the fullest."
This is Kimberly Clark Sharp's message from her extraordinary experience during the time after her heart suddenly stopped beating and she lay on the sidewalk, not breathing, and without a pulse. She was swept into a peaceful loving place of brilliant golden light and warm comfort, she saw, for the first time, the meaning of life and death.
Guided by a new sensitivity to the presence of angels, demons and other invisibilities, Kimberly attained a Masters degree in Social Work and began her career that put her in direct contact with dying people and people who almost died and came back. Here Kim was able to collect inspirational stories of other Near-Death Experiencers. Most notability Maria and the now famous account of the red shoe on the ledge. The home run of verifiable Out of Body Experiences.
I first heard Kim speak in Chicago and she had a room full of listeners laughing and crying, as she related her experiences. She tells it like it is and you can always trust her to shoot straight from the hip. The second time we had a meeting together in Virginia Beach, I asked her to give me some ideas on how to run a successful IANDS group. That’s when I observer her as an advocate for the NDErs and anyone seeking a spiritual life. Warm and compassionate, brilliant and witty Kim is a personality you have to hear.
Kimberly Clark Sharp, M.S.W., founded Seattle IANDS twenty five years ago and has taught at the University of Washington Medical School. She has been involved with IANDS since the early years.
Join us for what promises to be an entertaining evening.

NOTES FROM AN 'ACCIDENTAL' PIANIST
(And Composer)
featuring
DR. ANTHONY CICORIA
The LIGHTNING SONATA (in Three Movements)
Dr. Cicoria's musical career, began rather remarkably when he was struck by lightning while speaking on a public telephone during a family reunion near Albany in 1994. He had a Near-Death Experience that included an out-of-body experience. After recovering, Dr. Cicoria returned to his medical practice and everything seemed back to normal. Suddenly, six weeks after the incident, he developed an insatiable desire to hear and to play the piano. Around the same time, music started coming to him in dreams, some of which ultimately contributed to the original compositions featured in this event. Dr. Cicoria self-taught from 1995-97, before starting formal music instruction with Sandra McKane in 1998. As a result of his unusual introduction to the world of music, Dr. Cicoria was featured in the New Yorker Magazine article A Bolt from the Blue, by Oliver Sacks MD, as well as in Dr. Sacks' book Musicophilia: Tales of Music and the Brain.
Tonight Dr Cicoria will play his Lightning Sonata with a brief commentary between movements then he will sahare his Near-Death Experience.
The article in The New Yorker is not available online for free (you can read an abstract here)
A local paper in upstate New York, The Daily Star, published a fascinating story about this case as background for Dr. Cicoria's inaugural public performance of his first major classical composition "The Lightning Sonata." We thought you would enjoy reading about this very unique aftermath to an NDE at http://www.thedailystar.com/html.
